Cookies and advertising

What this site stores in your browser, when advertising is active, and how to change your choice.

Cookies and browser storage are not the same thing

A cookie is a small piece of data that a site asks your browser to keep and to send back with later requests. Browser storage is wider: it also covers local storage, IndexedDB, the Origin Private File System and the Cache Storage API. A page reads that storage directly, and it is not attached to network requests.

What this site stores

Your preferences: the selected theme and, where applicable, the selected language. They are stored in your browser so the site does not reset on every visit.

Advertising and consent state, where advertising is active: whether you have made a choice, and what that choice was.

Advertising

Where advertising is active, it is served through Google AdSense, and it is active only in the production configuration. Advertising is disabled in local development, continuous integration, preview builds and automated tests.

Advertising appears only on the localized homepage and on tool pages. It is never shown inside an embedded editor, an ad never overlays an editor, an ad never imitates an editor control, and no ad is placed next to Save, Open or Export.

Consent

Where advertising is active, you are asked for consent through a consent management platform before advertising cookies or identifiers are used. You can change or withdraw that choice afterwards, and the consent state itself is stored in your browser so the site remembers your answer.

Where consent is required and not given, advertising is not personalised.

The editors do not receive advertising

None of the seven editors receives advertising. The advertising system runs on the page around the editor and never inside it, so no editor control is covered, moved or imitated by an ad.

The statement we make about every editor is the narrow one: “Runs in your browser. No FreeAIGeneration account required.”

Storage used by the editors

Several editors keep projects, documents or an asset library in browser storage: IndexedDB, the Origin Private File System (OPFS) or the Cache Storage API. Your browser stores that data on your device.

That storage is not a backup. Clearing site data, using a private window, changing browser profile or a browser cleanup can remove it, browsers may evict storage when disk space runs short, and storage is per origin and per browser profile. Export work you care about to a file.

Controlling cookies

Every current browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from its own settings, per site. Blocking advertising cookies does not stop the editors from working: they are browser applications and they run without them.
