How this site handles advertising, browser storage and the open-source engines that power the editors.
Last updated:
Short version
FreeAIGeneration is a set of browser tools. There is no FreeAIGeneration account, no login and no FreeAIGeneration cloud storage for your documents.
The editors run as JavaScript, WebAssembly and WebGL applications inside your browser tab. When you open or export a file, it is handled by that application in the tab.
We do not claim that your files "never leave your device". Several things can legitimately cause a browser request — a font or icon fetched from a third-party origin, a feature that an upstream engine documents as requiring a network service, or a browser extension you installed. What we can state precisely is that FreeAIGeneration itself does not upload your documents to a FreeAIGeneration server, because it does not operate one for that purpose.
The claim we stand behind for every tool is the safe one: “Runs in your browser. No FreeAIGeneration account required.”
Advertising and consent
This site is funded by advertising. Where advertising is enabled, it is served through Google AdSense, and it is only enabled in the production configuration.
Advertising is disabled in local development, continuous integration, preview builds and automated tests. Over the wire, ads only appear on the localized homepage and on tool pages; there are no ads inside the embedded editors, on legal pages, on error pages, on editorial placeholder pages, or inside the raw `/apps/*` bundles.
Where advertising is active you will be asked for consent through a consent management platform before advertising cookies or identifiers are used, and you can change or withdraw that choice afterwards. Where consent is required and not given, advertising is not personalised.
Ad slots never overlay an editor, never imitate an editor control, and are never placed next to Save, Open or Export actions.
Browser storage
The browser storage this site uses falls into three groups.
- Your preferences: the selected theme and, where applicable, the selected language. These are stored in your browser so the site does not reset on every visit.
- Editor data: several of the editors keep projects, documents or an asset library in the browser, in IndexedDB, the Origin Private File System (OPFS) or the Cache Storage API. This data is stored by your browser on your device.
- Advertising and consent state, where advertising is active.
Editors that persist data in your browser
The RAW photo editor and the motion/VFX editor keep libraries and project data in browser storage. This has real caveats you should know about:
- Browser storage is not a backup. Clearing site data, using private/incognito windows, changing browser profile, or a browser cleanup can remove it.
- Browsers may evict storage under disk pressure. Export important work to a file rather than relying on the browser copy.
- Storage is per-origin and per-browser profile. Data stored on one device is not available on another.
- Service workers and large asset caches mean the first load of a large editor can take a while; that is a download, not an upload of your content.
Third-party open-source engines
Every editor is built on an upstream open-source application, distributed under the MIT or Apache-2.0 licence. The engine name, version, repository and licence files are credited on each tool page.
These engines may load additional third-party material — fonts, icons, codecs or reference data — from their own packaged assets or from public origins. Where an upstream engine documents a network dependency, we do not remove it.
We are an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any software vendor whose open-source work we build upon.
Licences and attribution
The complete licence record is published at /en/legal/attribution/ (also reachable at /en/attribution/). It lists, for each of the seven engines, the upstream repository, the pinned revision, the release artifact and its SHA-256, the dual licence MIT OR Apache-2.0, the licence files preserved with the bundle, and the NOTICE and attribution documents.
Both LICENSE-MIT and LICENSE-APACHE are preserved with every engine and stay reachable under /apps/<engine>/<version>/. Several engines compile fonts, icons, codecs, colour profiles or reference data into their WebAssembly module without shipping the matching licence text or a notice file; where that happens, the attribution page discharges the obligation, links the text at the pinned revision and says where our copy lives.
The ArtCraft name, wordmark and logos are trademarks of the ArtCraft team and are not covered by the MIT or Apache-2.0 licence. We redistribute the official artifacts verbatim and unmodified, we never use those marks as FreeAIGeneration branding, and we are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by the ArtCraft team or Adobe Inc.
Data we do not collect
There is no FreeAIGeneration account system, no FreeAIGeneration cloud document storage, no subscription and no payment processing.
The legacy Facebook Pixel is not used.
Questions
Privacy questions can be raised through the project repository. There is no FreeAIGeneration account system, so there is no account to delete and no profile to correct.
